Why
and Why Now
Excellence
is always easier to recognize than to create. This is especially true in
education where there are so many variables involved in determining a school’s
standing. Taking a broad view of education in America today, several trends among
successful leaders are so clear they deserve our attention.
The
first is that the “best” schools continue to become more desirable and
perceptually “lesser” schools often face decline or consolidation. This is
especially true of Catholic education. The second trend is that the leaders of
the best schools are always moving forward, adding the best faculty and
programs to attract the best students.
RBC
has maintained its’ role in our community by respecting these points as reality
and by planning for the future accordingly. Earning such a place today is an
expensive but very worthwhile endeavor.
A
look at successful institutions and businesses usually reveals a single
underlying principle in the most successful of them: the best are leaders in
committing financial resources to enhance their products and services.
Interestingly, the best schools attract the most financial support. Being a
visible part of an outstanding educational institution is obviously very
attractive to many with the financial resources to make a difference.
Red
Bank Catholic has faced many crossroads in its’ long history. Each time the
leadership has chosen to invest in the future and each time the choice has paid
rich dividends. The good news is that the RBC of today faces future choices as
a vibrant institution. The students, the faculty and our graduates are top
notch; and our alumni continue to distinguish themselves in many fields. Future
generations will expect the same of our beloved RBC but the pragmatists among
us know this will not just happen.
To
that end, a group of dedicated members of the Red Bank Catholic family launched
an investigation into the feasibility of making a major leap forward. The
result is “Imagine… RBC 2010.” As you look at the
details and the substance of RBC 2010, we hope you agree that we have planned
as well as we have planned ambitiously. We think it is an inspired vision of an
RBC that is true to our heritage and fully capable of redefining the best Catholic High School education. The various
groups of our extended RBC family who had an early opportunity to shape, to
develop and to review the plan, agreed.
Enjoy
your trip through the specifics and then search your heart for your own way to
support Red Bank Catholic’s future. Most of us have had several “what’s it all
about” moments in our lives. Whether you are a parent of an RBC student, an
appreciative alumni or a friend of the school, these moments stir in many of us
a need to do something important beyond ourselves that will endure for future generations.
When
you consider the causes available for such a commitment, please think about Red
Bank Catholic and Imagine… RBC 2010 with your support now.
